Hotels in Plano, Texas – Your Best Deal by a Mile

I don’t do too many hotel reviews during our travels because I’m usually not impressed enough to write anything down other than complaints. (For example, I recently stayed at the Las Vegas Hotel in Panama City where the water was shut off for an entire day!)

Since I usually go for the cheapest hotel room in the area I want to stay in, I’ve learned to expect what I pay for (uh, something on the dumpy side). I just try and stay outside of the hotel room as much as possible.

Not so during a recent stay in at a hotel in Plano, Texas.

I think the hotel industry is getting more competitive in this economy because I was shocked by the value we received at the Quality Inn & Suites.

First of all, Quality Inn & Suites is situated in the nicest part of Plano smack-dab on Plano Parkway (next to Baylor Medical Center) and surrounded by several other hotels of the same caliber. I called each of those hotels and got rates well over $100 bucks per night – and most of them didn’t offer the free hot breakfast or an in-suite kitchen!

When I called the Quality Inn directly I could tell they were ready to do business with me. (Love it.) I gave them the cheapest rate I found next door and they beat it by $45. And they had free Wi-Fi, a workout room, hot breakfast and all the rooms came with microwaves, coffee-makers and refrigerators (I always like to cook a few meals of my own to save money when staying in a hotel.)

Anyway, when I stumble upon a REALLY GOOD DEAL, I like to pass it on. If you’re staying in the Plano or in the Dallas area, check out this hotel. (It’s not as well-advertised as the other hotels and I just stumbled upon it by accident.) The staff is friendly and really cares that you’re comfortable — call them directly for the best price. It’s new, clean and chock-full of amenities and – the best part — you won’t find a cheaper rate, especially if you call.
