I am the main voice behind this website, but there is a silent partner in this endeavor. I asked him to list a few random facts about himself so you could get to know him better. Enjoy.
1. While I earned two degrees, I paid my way through college by working part-time and dumpster-diving for the majority of my food and household items.
2. I wore university issued gym shorts, jock strap, t-shirt and socks every single day while pursuing my degree in order to get them washed for free.
3. When I finally finished college, I had $15,000 in the bank and no debt.
4. I almost got kicked out of college for playing video games in the lab when multi-user games first came out. I remember playing for 24-hours straight one time.
5. That was the last time I can remember playing a computer game.
6. During a summer internship in Indiana I found boxes of potato chips behind a potato chip factory. I ate them for the entire summer even though the other intern complained that my crunching and chomping was waking her up.
7. Today, my favorite snack is chips.
8. My parents fled Cuba in the 1960s.
9. My father was a student protester and spoke out against Communism. His family had to leave everything behind and was allowed to take a maximum of $5.
10. When my father met my mother, he told her they would have 13 children. She laughed.
11. I am one of 13 children.
12. We didn’t have much money growing up, and we knew from a young age that we would have to pay for our own cars, tuition and most other things… even shoes and clothing.
13. Out of 13 kids, there are four engineers, two mathematicians, a restaurateur, an architect, a lawyer, a chemist, a nurse, a fisherman and a priest.
14. We are the cheapest people we know. But we have the best time together.
15. We grew up in a small southern town and were the only Hispanics.
16. My siblings and I would use Spanish as our secret code language.
17. When my mother finished raising 13 kids, she decided to go to college. She got her degree in education and became a school teacher.
18. My father is a world traveler and speaks 13 languages.
19. I once ran into him in Rome. Accidentally.
20. I have worked 13 years for the top two computer companies in the world.
21. It’s likely that I was involved in designing the server you’re using to view this website.
22. One of my greatest treasures is the blessing I received from Pope John Paul II on the day of my wedding to my beautiful bride.

I was reading this as we watch t.v. and had to keep stopping and reading it out loud to my family. what a great family you have. I am amazed at the love for learning that your siblings all must of had. and that after all of her kids were grown your mom went to school, just so cool .
